What to expect?

First and foremost, you should expect to meet a doctor who listens and respects your needs – a doctor who will discuss treatment options with you and create a plan that works best for you.

You initiate appointment

On your first visit, Dr. Zheng will take a detailed health history that includes your chief health concerns as well as past medical history, family medical history, discussions around your goal setting, current nutritional status, lifestyle, emotional well-being, exercise levels, stressors and other significant health factors. When necessary, related physical examinations will be performed and some laboratory assessments would be ordered. At the end of the visit, Dr. Zheng will present diagnosis and corresponding treatment options for you and discuss an individualized short and long term course of management. A first visit is an hour long and allows us to understand you and your health.

Subsequent Visits

Frequency of follow-up visits will depend on your health concerns and which treatment options you have chosen. Some conditions will resolve much quicker than chronic health concerns. Dr.Zheng will discuss this with you during your first visit. Follow-up visits range from 30-45 minutes each.

Is Naturopathic Medicine covered by OHIP?

Currently, services provided by Naturopathic Doctors are not covered by OHIP. However, most extended health benefits will cover a significant portion of your consultation fees. Check with your benefits provider for coverage details and how to submit claims.
